Six Fiesta R2s travelled to Germany for the fourth round of the Fiesta SportTrophy International (FSTi) series this weekend where Christian Riedemann (22) and Josefine Beinke (18) took their first FSTi victory at the hotly contested ADAC Rallye Deutschland. The 22-year-old driver's stunning performance also meant he finished fourth in the Junior World Rally Championship (J-WRC), in which he was nominated as the Guest Entry. Current FSTi leader Victor Henriksson sat this round out, but maintains his lead by five points to Bader Al Jabri.

Christian Riedemann and Josefine Beinke have led the FSTi field on their home rally from start to finish. The pair have had an unlucky season so far, but they hope that this will be the start of a winning streak on asphalt. As the J-WRC Guest Entry for Germany, the duo finished in a fantastic fourth place in the J-WRC....
Britons Harry Hunt and Sebastian Marshall were forced to retire from ADAC Rallye Deutschland on Day 2, seeing their championship position slip from second to third. The early leaders of the FSTi championship have been superseded into the runner-up spot by Team Abu Dhabi driver Bader Al Jabri and co-driver Steve McAuley....
Team Abu Dhabi drivers Majed Al Shamsi, Bader Al Jabri and Khalil Al Shaikh have finished in second, third and fourth positions respectively at the ADAC Rallye Deutschland. It proved to be a tricky event for all concerned, so the team did exceptionally well to finish when those around them were falling by the wayside....
Having seized the lead from Briton Harry Hunt, Swede Victor Henriksson still leads the championship following ADAC Rallye Deutschland. Having retired from the rally and only scoring a handful of points for stage wins, Hunt has slipped down to third, while Emirate Bader Al Jabri has been promoted to second place, just five poin...
Team Abu Dhabi driver Khalil Al Shaikh has successfully completed his debut WRC event, finishing FSTi in a respectable fourth position. An impact on Day 2 to co-driver Killian Duffy's door nearly put an end to his charge, but the damage turned out to be mostly cosmetic and the pair were able to continue to service....
The Fiesta SportTrophy International (FSTi) will return to the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) for its fifth successive year in April 2010 and will again be supported by Pirelli. The great news is that drivers under the age of 28 years old will also be able to register for a J-WRC +FSTi joint package, scoring points for both championships and the J-WRC Rookie Trophy.
M-Sport established the one-make championship in 2006 and, while the general concept remains the same, the improvements made in 2009 to the incentive package and scoring system have been carried over into 2010.
The prize for the championship winner will be an all-expenses-paid test in the newly developed Fiesta S2000 with Ford factory driver Mikko Hirvonen, with the chance to discuss the test with the flying Finn and M-Sport Managing Director Malcolm Wilson OBE.
For 2010, the FST concept will use the five-speed Fiesta R2 rally car, which is based on the Ford Fiesta Sport using the 1.6L Ti-Vct 120PS (1598cc) base engine as in regular production. It is built from a standard conversion kit developed by M-Sport and is regularly taking class wins in the WRC. The GpN Fiesta ST will also be eligible for the championship; it has proven to be a reliable and competitive rally car, a fact reinforced by nearly 300 current owners in 27 countries around the world.
Of the seven counting rounds, the best points from five rounds will count towards the championship standings. This will allow those drivers who have completed the full season to drop any low scores, but will also assist those drivers who are only able to compete on an event-by-event basis to score highly overall if they achieve good results on occasional rallies.
